Giappone, fioritura dei ciliegi. L’Hanami, nome che deriva da “hana” che significa “i fiori“ e “mi”(miru) che significa “vedere”, “ammirare”.
Every year for a precious week or so the cherry blossoms in Japan bloom and the whole country turns pink and white. Apparently it sends the Japanese into a frenzy, my own teacher wasn’t here last week because she’d gone back to visit for hanami (lit. ‘flower viewing’ in Japanese). It’s a time when people let their hair down and go and have picnics and parties under the sakura (cherry blossom) trees. I’ll hopefully be able to see this for myself next year, it might even fall on my 23rd birthday if I’m lucky.
